Sample Itinerary

Saturday – Arrive at San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU); meet your local staff, pick up your rental vehicle(s) and drive to your lodging facility
Sunday – Attend local church in the morning; cultural activity in the afternoon 
Monday-Tuesday – Service projects; evening devotions and God Sightings
Wednesday – Free day to enjoy the beach, forest, and/or Old San Juan (ideas provided by our local staff)
Thursday-Friday – Continue service projects; evening devotions and God Sightings
Saturday – Depart for SJU airport; fly home

Need to Know

  • A passport is not required to travel to Puerto Rico if you are a U.S. citizen because Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory.

  • Consult with your doctor on appropriate and recommended vaccines. Be sure to bring bug spray (at least 25% DEET) as there are mosquito-borne illnesses present in Puerto Rico, including Dengue Fever, Chikungunya, and the Zika virus.

  • Fly into the San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU). Average flight cost is $450-$600.

  • Cost of ground transportation is not included; the cost of your rental vehicle(s) and associated fees (tolls and gas expenses) are your responsibility.

  • Lodging may be in a community center, school, an empty apartment building, or even a baseball stadium. Plan to bring a twin-size air mattress to sleep on and a twin-size sheet set and small pillow.

  • Currency and electricity are the same as the rest of the U.S.

  • Spanish and English are the primary languages.

  • Bring additional money for souvenirs and free day activities.
