Sample Itinerary
Saturday – Arrive at San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU); meet your local staff, pick up your rental vehicle(s) and drive to your lodging facility
Sunday – Attend local church in the morning; cultural activity in the afternoon
Monday-Tuesday – Service projects; evening devotions and God Sightings
Wednesday – Free day to enjoy the beach, forest, and/or Old San Juan (ideas provided by our local staff)
Thursday-Friday – Continue service projects; evening devotions and God Sightings
Saturday – Depart for SJU airport; fly home
Need to Know
A passport is not required to travel to Puerto Rico if you are a U.S. citizen because Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory.
Consult with your doctor on appropriate and recommended vaccines. Be sure to bring bug spray (at least 25% DEET) as there are mosquito-borne illnesses present in Puerto Rico, including Dengue Fever, Chikungunya, and the Zika virus.
Fly into the San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU). Average flight cost is $450-$600.
Cost of ground transportation is not included; the cost of your rental vehicle(s) and associated fees (tolls and gas expenses) are your responsibility.
Lodging may be in a community center, school, an empty apartment building, or even a baseball stadium. Plan to bring a twin-size air mattress to sleep on and a twin-size sheet set and small pillow.
Currency and electricity are the same as the rest of the U.S.
Spanish and English are the primary languages.
Bring additional money for souvenirs and free day activities.
